The third offering of Roller Derby in Manchester is underway and we STILL have our doors open for more skaters. We want you, yes you! If youre 14 or 40, if youve skated for 10 years or 10 minutes, if youre in manchester, you want to learn to skate or learn to play roller derby then the Arcadia is the place to be!

We offer a variety of sessions to meet all needs, we have a huge range of skaters in terms of age and ability, and most importantly of all we do everything with an open mind, an open attitude and a big beaming smile.

After taking an extended sabbatical Ladies Roller Hockey has returned to the Arcadia in Manchester. We invite ALL ladies of any age to come and give hockey a go.

Last season 2010/2011 Manchester Roller Hockey were under 18′s league winners and currently hold the prestigious title of Cock o’the North Senior Cup Champions.  For The 2009/2010 season Manchester were u13′s league champions u15′s league champions and of course Cock o’the North Senior Cup Champions.

For the 2012/2013 season we want to add the Senior Ladies League Champions to our almost full to bursting trophy cabinet. We need YOU to help us get there!

it doesnt matter if youve never skated, it doesnt matter if youve never played hockey. Our experienced coaches can train your from scratch to achieveing this prestigious title.

Come along the first wednesday of every month @ 8:30pm to the Arcadia to give it a try.

The Manchester Arcadians are the pioneers of UK Junior Roller Derby. We are, at the moment, the only club in the country actively recruiting, developing, supporting and allowing under 18′s to play this exciting sport.

We play to the JRDA Ruleset  and adhere to the highest standards of safety and sportsmanship.

Our Coach, Sharron Mooks, adheres to the JRDA Coaches Code of Conduct and brings with her 2 solid years of Roller Derby coaching and experience.

Sessions are open to ALL and run on Sundays @ the Arcadia Sports Centre M19 3PH from 6-8pm with your first session free of charge.

Junior Roller Derby is a sport that requires skill, altheticism, agility and huge smiles all round. We adhere to the strictest safety standards when training and playing, and can offer anyone under 18 the opportunity to be involved with this pioneering project.

Roller Hockey is a non-contact ball game played on roller skates or between two teams, consisting of four floor players and one goalkeeper, that was invented in England in 1896.

The object of the game is to score goals by passing, dribbling and shooting a hard, small ball into the opposition’s goal using, what is best described as the ‘original’ two sided hooked field hockey, stick.

Although Roller Hockey is an English creation it is most popular in the Latin countries such as Spain, Portugal, and Argentina where it is played professionally by Clubs such as FC Barcelona, FC Porto and Deportivo LaCorunia who attract crowds in excess of 5,000 people to matches.

Manchester Roller Hockey Club work closely with the Northern Counties Roller Hockey Association and the National Roller Hockey Association of England to ensure the continued growth of Roller Hockey in the North of England.

Flat track roller derby is a fast-paced contact team sport that requires speed, strategy, and athleticism. Roller Derby is a game of skill, largely marketed as “girls hitting each other on skates” the Manchester Arcadians want to move away from that stereotype and promote Roller Derby as a true sport .
